At PCA, our goal is to follow the classical model of education that strives to cultivate wisdom, virtue and mastery of learning itself. It’s a time-tested method that has worked well for ages, dating back to the Greeks and Romans but refined through medieval Christian scholarship and is seeing a resurgence in many Christian schools today.
The classical model is built on the Trivium, that is, three distinct stages of learning: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. The classical model emphasizes great literature, mastery of language, sound logic and thinking, and forming virtuous character.
The Grammar Stage occurs during Form 1 and 2 (K-6th grade), and focuses on acquiring knowledge. Educators have long capitalized on the child’s natural ability to memorize and retain huge quantities of information at this stage, setting the stage for the Logic Stage. At PCA, our students will learn math, grammar rules, and historical timelines while also learning Scripture, singing hymns, learning Catechism questions and answers, and more.

In order to provide a solid, Biblical foundation for our students, we will open each day with a time of prayer, worship, Scripture and Catechism. During this time, Pastor Ty Danielson will help cultivate a firm foundation centered around the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord over all Creation and all of Life.
